Mathare United suffered his first loss of the season after going down 1-2 to Sofapaka in a Round 3 Kenyan Premier League match played in Machakos.
George Maelo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a powerful volley from a freekick before Humphrey Okoti doubled the visitors' lead with a close range header moments before the hour mark.
A late surge by the Slum Boys saw them pin Sofapaka in their own half but Batoto ba Mungu's lead remained intact thanks to good goalkeeping from Ugandan international Mathias Kigonya as well as poor finishing from the Mathare United forwards.
However Sofapaka's bubble burst deep in injury time when Tyson Otieno smashed a low drive into the bottom left corner to finish off a well worked move from the right.
Following the loss, Mathare United is now ranked 10th with 4 points, 3 behind leaders Bandari
