Omulanga: I can only get better

Klinsman Omulanga races towards the centre circle after scoring against Gor Mahia during the league match played at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu on Sunday, September 30, 2018.

Klinsman Omulanga reckons that he has improved as a player despite his contribution being limited to substitute appearances this season.

Omulanga, who joined the club in January from Liberty Professionals, has enhanced his reputation as a super sub in the second leg where he has scored two goals.

His latest cameo was against Gor Mahia last Sunday where he came off the bench shortly after the restart with the team trailing to inspire a comeback.

He pulled one back in the 67th minute before winning a penalty that was successfully converted by Cliff Nyakeya with ten minutes left.

“I am happy with my performance because I have been working hard in training waiting for the opportunity. Against Gor Mahia, coach introduced me earlier than usual and that shows that he had a lot of trust in me.

“It feels good to score against the champions and also helping my team get a point in a match that looked beyond us at half time. It shows that I am improving and I can only get better,” said Omulanga.

Both goals came from some chemistry upfront among the trio of Omulanga, Ronald Reagan and Daniel Mwaura. The budding forward revealed that their understanding was borne out of the training ground.

“Normally we play together in training as the second team and we have a very good understanding. I saw Mwaura was in a tight angle and I knew he would pick me out with a cross that’s why I made that run. In the second goal I signaled Reagan to cross the ball and that’s how we got the penalty.

“We enjoy playing together in training and it’s good that our combination is also paying off in the league,” added Omulanga.
