Okal Reveals Omondi's Hand In Maiden Goal
Roy Okal has revealed Francis Omondi’s impact in his game after he scored his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw with Zoo on Sunday at the Kericho Green Stadium.
Okal, who has seen his first team appearances reduce since the arrival of Omondi in January, lobbed an advancing Martin Elung’at to hand the Slum Boys the lead in the 28th minute.
Zoo skipper Johnston Ligare equalized for the hosts shortly after the restart to ensure both sides got a share of the spoils.
“It is a great feeling to score and that goal helps the team to achieve something. The coach told us to play combination football and after giving the pass I made a run which was spotted (by Chrispin Oduor). I am happy that our game plan worked,” said a visibly elated Okal.

While that was only his fifth start this season, Okal admitted that stiff competition from Omondi has helped him add another dimension to his game.
“Francis is a good player and the competition between us is always tight. He has pushed me to change my game and I have really improved in terms of attack. We always look to learn from each other in training,” opened up Okal.
A dead ball specialist Omondi has scored six goals in his first season in the topflight.
